David Stone Martin was a prolific illustrator who created over 400 classic album covers. Much of his work was for the Norman Granz labels Clef,
Norgran, and Verve, as well as JATP covers. He was known for his depictions of Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Billie Holiday, Illinois
Jacquet, and many others. His work has been displayed at the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Smithsonian Institution.
Having the privilege of being the agent of David Stone Martin, we have a limited number of his art works for sale:
- Late 1950's prints (signed by the artist, in
my presence.)
